This unusually sized coin is one of only a few fractional silver coins produced by the RCM. The coin features precisely machined radial lines on both sides of the coin as a security feature, just as used on the gold and silver maple leaf coins.

 

The reverse showcases the largest of the birds of prey, a bald eagle, in flight carrying a salmon in it|s talons. Tree branches share the foreground with the eagle.  All of the writing on the reverse runs around the rim of the coin in the area filled by the radial lines.
